Enjoy La Tomatina Festival held in August

Visiting Spain at August end can be a highly rewarding experience when you can get to see the crazy and wacky sides of the Spaniards during the famous annual La Tomatina festival. It is indeed a sight to behold thousands of people participating in World’s Biggest Food Fight festival by throwing ripe tomatoes at each other.

The fight endures for about an hour after which not one tomato could be thrown to anyone. It starts with a piece of ham being hung on the top of a greasy pole in the bustling city square. The aim is to be the first person to climb up the pole and retrieve the ham with loud rooting for the participant. One the ham is retrieved the signal is blown and throwing of over ripe tomatoes ensues.

Explore King’s Little Pathway

El Caminito del Rey aka King’s Little Pathway which spans the El Chorro Gorge was once designated as one of the most dangerous crossings of the world. Since the route is linear and it stretches from north to south visitors need to organise their transference both from the start to the end point. For the extreme adventure buffs this is certainly one of the highly recommended things to do in Spain.
