Topkapi Palace Museum

This was the center of the Ottoman empire in the 15th and 16th centuries, and sultans lived here with their families, and even the council of ministers conducted meetings here. This started getting ignored by the rulers in the 17th century when they moved to the newer castle, but in 1921, after the fall of the empire, the state turned it into a museum.

But by virtue of its unique architecture, the Topkapi Palace Museum still remains among the best places to go to Turkey in October! The visitors can witness here the unique display of the artifacts and murals, ranging from the Ottoman period of time.

Among the places to go in Turkey, you must include the Hamamonu Restored Area, which might be offbeat, but is equally relaxing and enjoyable. The name of the area comes from the number of hamams or authentic Turkish bath options it has.

Kaymakli Underground City

If you are wondering where to go in Turkey in October, this is one of our top recommendations as the pleasant climate during this month gives you a chance to explore the village in the best way! This village was built way back in 3000 BC under the mighty citadel of Antalya, and the origin of this underground city is quite interesting!

Because it is made of soft volcanic rock, it is easy to dig tunnels into it, and the Kaymakli people took advantage of it in case of an attack or invasion, by using these tunnels to get to safe places! It has seen the rise and fall of both Hittite and Phrygian periods and provides valuable information from those virtually inaccessible periods.

Now it is a coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site, and people from all across the world flock into this underground city!
