A prominent part of the island’s natural landscape, the waterfalls in Langkawi are known for their resplendent beauty. Stowed away across the slopes of the rolling mountain peaks, the waterfalls here are not only known for their scenic beauty, but form a great location for picnics and hikes as well.
The biggest and most challenging of Langkawi waterfalls, the Seven Wells Falls cascades from the slopes of Mount Mat Cincang. The stunning falls derives its name from the seven pools that form underneath it, and attracts tourists from across the island. The Temurun Waterfall, albeit smaller in size, is equally competitive in its beauty. The Sona Waterfalls is Langkawi’s best kept secret, while the Lubuk Semilang is a short cascade which forms an ideal picnic spot. The waterfalls in Langkawi remain at their best and strongest during its season of rain, which is generally between August and November.
