Buddhist shrines are the biggest religious draw at the island. Some of the most well known Buddhist temples here include the Wat Tham Kisap and the Wat Koh Wanaram. Stowed away amidst jungles, both the temples offer a serene refuge away from the busy tourist areas in Langkawi. However, the island’s diversity in religious practices is made evident through diverse praying centers like of Thean Hou, Langkawi’s biggest and very own Chinese temple, and the plethora of Hindu temples it houses. Each temple, of course, boasts of flamboyant architectural brilliance adhering to its own fate and history. Langkawi island also features a mosque, the Al Hana Mosque, which is one of its most prominent historical attractions.
