Places to Visit in Dubrovnik

The Uvala Lapad Beach is nestled in the Lapad peninsula - which is home to some of the best and most spectacular beaches in Dubrovnik. The Betina Cave beach is found right in the middle of Dubrovnik, nestled a little to the east of the historic Old town district which is mostly known for its rooftops. The popular beach, which is only 20 meters from the road and is shielded by the rugged coastline's strong and enchanting vaults is one of the popular tourist spots. 

Visit Orlando's Column, a proud landmark in the centre of Dubrovnik, at Luža Square. This 1418 stone monument depicts Orlando, a fabled hero who is given credit for protecting the city from pirates. As you draw near, you'll notice Orlando carrying a sword, representing the city's liberty. The column also had a significant historical significance as a venue for public meetings and governmental announcements.

Explore Old Port Dubrovnik, which is surrounded by striking breakwaters and located on the city's eastern side. Porporela and Kaše, two important breakwaters that guard the harbour, are visible as you go along the port.

Enter Dubrovnik's Old Town through the Pile Gate, which was erected in 1537. While strolling across the stone bridge, witness how the drawbridge rises every night to provide security. You can see the figure of St. Blaise, who watches over the city, standing tall above the arch. As you go through the thick walls, you can spot a sign that shows how the Siege of Dubrovnik in 1991 and 1992 damaged the city.
