A small populous village of Kinnaur, Ribba is nestled at the height of around 3745 meters above the sea. The village is abundant in Pine nuts and this is how it got its another name, “Rirang”. In the local language, Ri means Pine Nut and Rang means peak.

One of the many passes of Himachal is the Borasu Pass that connects Baspa River valley with the Tons River valley. The majestic fort of Kamru stands tall at an altitude of 2600 meters above the sea level. It is around 2 km away from the enticing Sangla valley and is one of the popular tourist places in Kinnaur. The fort is situated at a picturesque location and serves the travelers with breathtaking views of Sangla valley, apple orchards, and streams.

On the entry point of the fort, one has to pass through a large number of gates. On the main gate, you will get to see a massive statue of Lord Buddha which will leave you stunned with its beauty. At the top of the fort, there is a Kamakhya Devi Idol which is truly worth seeing.

This magnificent fort is adorned by snow-clogged mountains, lush green fields, intricate wooden carvings, and dense forests. The entire fort is in the shape of a tower which has 5 storeys which rest on a 55-square feet platform.

Popularly known as the abode of Gods, Recong Peo lies in the center of the Himalayas. This serene town is inhabited by Kinnauri tribe and has still preserved its culture successfully. Nestled at an altitude of 2290 meters above the sea, the district headquarter of Recong Peo offers panoramic views of Kinnaur Kailash.

Recong Peo also forms an entry point of the town Kalpa which is another natural spot in Kinnaur. On your visit to this place, don’t forget to visit the Chandika Devi temple and Brelengi Gompa monastery. The town has all the amenities for the travelers including medicine, general stores, electronic accessories shops etc.

A beautiful village situated in Pooh Tehsil in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Namgia is adorned with lush green fields of buckwheat, barley, turnips, apricots, and vines. Namgya village is situated at an altitude of around 3048 meters above the sea level. It lies on the banks of the river Satluj which adds to the aesthetic appeal of this place.

On your stay here, you can also visit the Buddhist temple known as Lagang. The local deities in this village include Dabla, Narain Bushahru, and Chola. A large portion of the land in this village is isolated and hence, it forms an ideal spot for peace-seekers.

A must-visit place for avid nature lovers and peace seekers, Lipa Asarang Sanctuary is situated at an altitude of 5022 meters nearby Moorang town. The sanctuary is sprawled over an area of 30.89 sq km and flaunts a huge variety of flora and fauna. From dry coniferous forest and dry alpine scrub to juniper scrub, Lipa sanctuary has everything for a nature buff.

The sanctuary is mostly known for the fauna such as Yak, Goral, Brown Bear, Musk Deer, and Blue Sheep. If you want to explore this nature’s paradise, take the prior permission and head to the beauty.

One of the most visited tourist places in Dehradun; Rupin Pass Trek is a classic trek in the Himalayas. The complete trek starts from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla, Himachal Pradesh.  It is a high altitude trek but it offers so much more than just a hike. This trek comes with snow-covered views of the mighty Himalayan peaks, a vibrant variety of flora and fauna, lush green forest area, rambling waterfalls, singing rivers, and stunning meadows.

It is recommended to stop by at as many of these places as you can because this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you. Some of the popular places to visit here are Jhaka village, Mori, Pokhu Devta temple, Kinnaur temple and view of Kinner Kailash. The trek is a bit difficult but it has some easy trails in the way.
