Among the various places to visit in Kaohsiung the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas is an exotic one. The most striking feature of this place is its entrance & exit concept which is similar to a tiger’s mouth & a dragon’s throat. The symbolic meaning of this structure is turning back the bad fortune and entering towards a good one. This is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Kaohsiung and is often termed as the harbor of this region. The breathtaking Lotus Pond is one of the most popular tourist attractions of this port city. Something unusual about this pond is that it is more of a lake that stretches for about 42 hectares of land. The chores of the pond are dotted with as many as twenty temples along with the Dragon & Tiger pagodas. It is located in the Zuoying District of Kaohsiung is the best place to witness the sunset in the laps of serenity.

This elegant structure was built back in 1686 with one temple and an ample amount of beautiful lotus in the pond, from where it got the name Lotus pond. This is a scenic site and one must not miss out on a chance of visiting this masterpiece!

This is another revered museum showcasing a mix of European & Chinese architectural styles and is one of the most interesting places to visit in Kaohsiung. The entrance of this museum is elite and has a grand fountain along the side of a bridge that has royal lions engraved on it. It has a Greek texture in it and is a true historic tour for travelers.

This museum is located in the heart of the city and one can easily spot it with its Angel of Glory statue that is perched right on its top. The statue depicts the protection of the country and is 42 meters high. The museum sprawls around 150 meters and a gift to mankind.

Tour the past of Taiwan times with the Old British Consulate which is the first consulate to be built in this region. It features a residence, hiking trail, and the compound of the consulate. This is an important site from Chinese modern history and can be reached with a short hike. The interiors of the edifice are intriguingly built and consist of big wall pillars, elegant arches, and a whole lot more.

Apart from this, the consulate even has historical architectural value as the styles and techniques used while making this building are rare and worth understanding. It's a combination of Chinese & western styles of architecture and hence is a delight for history & architectural style lovers.

Blueprint Culture & Creative Park is one of the top Kaohsiung places to visit. This wonderful park is located in the old judicial dorm region and showcases intriguing 3-D installations. To your surprise, there is even a tree that is lit by yellow lights and all these vistas and 3D installations make it an amazing place to visit.
