Wat Mahathat

The headquarter of Thailand's largest monastic order and Vipassana Meditation center, Wat Mahathat is an important center for the study of Buddhism and meditation. Although most programmes are in Thai, there are some in English and the temple has become a popular place to learn Vipassana Meditation (Insight Meditation). The temple was originally built to house a relic of the Buddha and one of the oldest temples in Bangkok.
You can also have your fortune told inside the 'wat' (temple). Just next to the temple, every Sunday is the Bangkok's largest amulet market, where religious amulets, charms, talismans, and traditional medicine are spread on the ground to be inspected by buyers looking for one that will bring good luck or ward off evil. Different amulets are used for specific purposes; to bring money, restore health, deal with unrequited love or keep your enemies away.

Wat Mangkon Kamalawat

The temple is decorated typically using a Chinese architectural style that makes use of Chinese dragons. During the annual Vegetarian festival, religious and culinary activities are particularly active here.

See the Golden Buddha at Wat Traimit

If you are interested in beholding the way the statue was made, there is Phra Buddha Maha Suwanna Patimakorn Exhibition on the second floor of the temple. On the other hand, the third floor of the temple highlights the multimedia exhibits on the Chinatown of Bangkok and its inhabitants. It is said that the temple is dated back to the early 13th century.

Assumption Cathedral

Assumption Cathedral has remained the most important and popular Catholic church in Thailand since the time of its construction. Pope John Paul II visited this place in 1984 which further solidified local’s belief in this holy shrine.

Wat Intharawihan

The Ubosot was built towards the end of the Ayutthaya period, and has several interesting Buddha images, elevated murals on the walls and lavishly gilded window shutters. Outside are unusually carved sema stones and tucked away in an alcove there's a lifelike model of Luang Phaw Toh, a famous monk. In the small museum are old Buddha images and various paintings.

With the number of buildings and residents growing at the Grand Palace, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) decided to have a new Palace build.

Visit the Royal Thai Elephant Museum

A national symbol and a deeply revered animal in Thailand remain to be the elephant. Tradition dictates that a white elephant should belong to the monarch and becomes their exclusive property. Considered a symbol of prestige and wealth, the white elephant is an albino of the Siamese elephant. the grounds of the Dusit Palace. Formally the building was used as the stables of the royal elephants, but today has been converted into a museum, which is made up of two buildings.
The first building will give visitors an insight into the history of royal elephants and how the animals are classified. Several artifacts, photographs, and figurines can also be found in the first building. The second building has a display model of a white elephant in full royal regalia along with other artifacts. Another highlight of the museum remains to be the fine display of elephant tusks, the longest is said to be 290 cm in length and once belonged to the auspicious white elephants.

Art and Culture Centre

Bangkok Art and Cultural Center is the centre of Bangkok's prospering craftsmanship scene and offers a wide scope of contemporary workmanship, plan, music, theatre and film in the city.

Giant Swing

The first Giant Swing, dating from 1784, was replaced in 2004 with another one created completely from brilliant teak. Princess Mother Memorial Park

The park features an actualsize model of the house where the Princess Mother was born and lived, set amid a beautifully landscaped garden. Erawan Shrine

After conferences with celestial prophets, the erection of a hallowed place to respect the four confronted Brahma God, Than Tao Mahaprom, was thought to be a favorable arrangement. A sublime picture of the Brahma God was particularly thrown and plated, and The Erawan Hotel opened to recognitions and overall acclaim for three decades.
Towards the end, the property couldn't contend with more cutting edge offices, and was replaced by the exclusive Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in 1991. As the shrine was initially developed to match the grandeur of the old Erawan Hotel, the area came to be known as the Erawan Shrine.
