Patpong museum is a privately owned museum that chronicles the history of Patpong, Bangkok’s famous red-light area. Michael Messner, a native of Patpong is the owner and curator of this museum. Opened in October 2019, for the public, it displays the artifacts and the historical insignia that tell you the story of this area over several decades. It gives you an idea of how Patpong has evolved and gained its reputation among tourists and the locals. There are sleazy details about the prostitution for which the place was famous, but, there is much more to it. There are 3D shows and display galleries that exhibit the famous people who have visited Patpong and the street art, and murals which were once a part of this vibrant city.
The museum tells you the history of Patpong district over a hundred years. Tourists can walk through the museum and relive the history of the place. Photos, memorabilia, and artefacts are on display, which tells the story of the district over the years. There is provision for playing adult ping-pong games. There are x-rated shows which give you the idea of why and how this place became famous world-wide. Tourists can also take a sip of refreshment at a bar designed in 70’s style. The museum takes you back in a memory lane through interactive games, live shows, and historical exhibits to experience a world that has long been lost.

You can travel to Patpong Museum via taxi, motorcycle-taxi, and TukTuk. Alternatively, you can take the BTS Sky Train Silom line and get down at Sala Daeng station, get out at Exit 1 and proceed forward. You will see the sign”Patpong”. If you are coming from Sukhumvit road, take BTS Sukhumvit Line and change it at Siam station. Change over to Siam Line and proceed. You can also take the Bangkok Blue line and get off at Si Lom station, cross the road to reach Patpong. If you travel by road via taxi, then Patpong museum is about 7 km from Bangkok and will take around 18 minutes to reach. By public transport, it can take up to 40 minutes.
