This budget friendly North East tour will be taking you through some of the best cities and states of the North East. You will be starting the tour from Shillong, exploring some of the most amazing and worthy attractions of the city, and then move on to the cleanest village on the continent of Asia, Mawlynnong. You will then go to explore the city of Guwahati, which will also be the last stop on this tour. You will be getting to see the Umiam Lake, Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park, Elephant Falls, the living root bridges of Meghalaya, Dawki Village and the international border that india shares with Bangladesh. 

On this budget tour of North East, that is spread over the duration of 5 days and 4 nights, you will be beginning the trip by arriving in Shillong via airport or railway station, from where our representative will pick you up and take you to your hotel so you can check in. You can rest for a while before going to see the famous Umiam Lake. On the next day, you will be further exploring the beauty of the city of Shillong as you will be visiting the famous Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park, and the Elephant Falls of Shillong. 

As the tour progresses further, you will be travelling to the village of Mawlynnong, which got its fame by getting the award of the cleanest village in the continent of Asia. Another reason that this village is famous for are the amazing living root bridges that people here have made by weaving together the roots from the trees that grow on both sides of the streams that flow in the hills here. Apart from being a good mode of travel, these are marvels of nature and man. In fact, there is a double decker bridge in the midst of all the other bridges as well, and you will be going to see that as well. From here, you will be going to your hotel and check-in.

The next day, you will be going to Guwahati from here, where you will be going to visit the Dawki Village famous for have lakes with crystal clear waters, so much so that you can see till their bottom. You will also get a chance to see the international border with Bangladesh from one of the hills. On the last day of this Budget North East tour Package, you will be checking out of your hotel and getting a transfer to the airport, en route which you will be visiting the famous Kamakhya temple. You will then catch your return flight and bring the experience of this tour to an end.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Shillong

    After arrival in Shillong, you will be met by our representative at the airport, who will transfer you to your hotel.

    Check-in to your hotel and take some time to get acclimatized to the high altitude weather.

    You will be going to see the Umiam Lake, later in the day. The majestic lake is built as a reservoir to the Umiam River.

  • Day 2 - Local Sightseeing in Shillong

    This day, you will be further exploring the city of Shillong.

    You will be going to see the Don Bosco Museum which displays artifacts from the local culture. Then comes the visit to the Lady Hydari Park and the Elephant Falls.

  • Day 3 - Visiting the Cleanest Village of Asia- Mawlynnong

    You will get a transfer from Shillong to Mawlynnong, which is the cleanest village in all of Asia.

    On this day, you will also see the majestic living root bridges of the region, including a double-decker bridge made entirely with the roots of trees growing on each side of the river stream.

  • Day 4 - Mawlynnong to Guwahati

    From here, you will be going to Guwahati in Assam.

    On the way, you will be visiting the amazing village of Dawki, which is the home to the famous lakes with the cleanest of waters. Also, the village on the border of India and Bangladesh has a famous suspension bridge on the river Umngot.

    You will also be getting to see the international border from the hills here.

  • Day 5 - Check-out and Return

    After checking out this morning, you will be taking a transfer to the airport. You will also be visiting the Kamakhya temple on the way.

    From the airport, you will take your return flight and bring the experience to an end.
