About the Activity:

  • Embark on an exciting and enticing 5 day 4 night trekking activity in Bhutan and see the beauties of this land of monks and monasteries.
  • Get picked up from the airport in an air- conditioned shared vehicle and transfer to Thimphu where you will start your sightseeing tour.
  • Explore various sights here such as Memorial Chorten, Takin Zoo and a 52 feet long statue of Buddha.
  • Over the next few days you will be witnessing many wonderful destinations such as Punakha Valley, Thimphu, Paro Dzong and Taksang which is the sight of a famous Buddhist Temple- Tiger's Nest.
  • Visit many tourist attractions ans well as secret destinations within Bhutan that portray it's beauty perfectly.
  • Discover the famous historical sites and local markets and experience local village lifestyles and tradition from up close.
  • End this tour after getting drop back to the airport and depart for home.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 -

    Arrival in Paro at the airport and transfer for sightseeing

    Arrival to Paro International and transfer to Thimphu valley which is the most developed and capital town in Bhutan.

    Sightseeing at Memorial Chorten which is a Buddhist stupa built in memory of the third king of Bhutan (Jigme Dorji Wanchuck),

    Visit to the Takin Zoo which is a national preservation center for an endangered species called Takin.

    Buddha point where there is a 52 feet Buddha statue overlooking beautiful Thimphu valley, National weaving center where there will be a good display of Bhutanese fabric and Tashicho Dzong which is the main fortress of Thimphu district and King’s Office .

    Check in Hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Thimphu.

  • Day 2 -

    Drive to Punakha Valley via Dochu La Pass

    Drive to Punakha valley which is situated at a lower altitude compared to Thimphu, therefore it is slightly warmer.

    After lunch there will be a small hike (20mins) to Chimmi Lhakhang which is a 14th century Buddhist temple.

    Visit Punakha Dzong which is the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan.

    Over night stay in Punakha valley.

  • Day 3 -

    Drive to Paro valley which would take abour 3-4 hours

    After morning breakfast, Drive to Paro valley which would take abour 3-4 hours.

    Post lunch embark on sightseeing in Paro Dzong which is another fortress in Paro valley. There will be small walk from the Fortress towards a traditional bridge.

    After that visit Kichu Lhakhang which is also one of the oldest Buddhist temple in Bhutan built in the 7th century by a Tibeten emperors named Songten Gyalpo.

    Overnight in Paro.

  • Day 4 -

    Drive to Taksang Base Camp and 6-7 Hour hike to Tiger's Nest Temple.

    After morning breakfast, drive to Taksang base camp for a 6-7 hours hike upwards to an ancient Buddhist temple popularly known as the Tiger’s nest temple.

    This would be one of the main highlight of this tour, as this temple is considered to be a wonder because it was built in a vertical cliff.

    After the hike drive back to Hotel to refresh for a farmhouse visit for dinner.

    The farm house visit will be a good experience to know more about the culture of Bhutan and try traditional Bhutan cuisine.

  • Day 5 -

    Departure towards airport.

    Get dropped back to the airport and depart for home.

    End of tour.
