Picture this: You are surrounded by the Dhauladhar Mountain ranges on both your sides while having a clear sky above you to look at. And amidst the countless stars, you see Milky Way as clear as day. It feels like if you would just stretch out your hand a little higher, you could almost touch it. That’s what you witness on the Rajgundha trek! Trek to Rajgundha valley is an offbeat gem of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The valley we are talking about is totally paradise where wifi is weak and no less than a new world as summers here are much rainier than the winters. Here you disconnect to connect with nature, passing through oak trees, wooden elephant, waterfalls, orange-ish sunset, green meadows, local culture, traditional houses from Rajgundha Valley looks like it was painted across the heavens.

Referred often along with its twin village, Kukkar Gundha, Rajgundha village has a beautiful environment. Situated at a height of approximately 8900 ft, this village is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and witnesses beautiful sunsets and sunrises every day.

About the tour:
- Arguably the most rewarding beginners trek in the Himalayas. A complete package with the 360-degree scenic trail passing through the banks of Uhl river and virgin views of snow capped peaks culminating in take off from one of the world’s best paragliding sites.
- Rajgundh trek is a 12 KM hike from Billing to Rajgundha via Chenna pass and 4 KM hike from Badagraan to Rajgundha.
- You will pass through green forests which are mostly made up of oak trees, rhododendron trees, and deodar trees. And on the way, you will also cross the highest point of the trek - Channa ghat  (2700 mt). From here, you will be able to see both Rajgundha valley and Kangra valley.
- All equipment, meal areas, accommodation, etc. are sanitized before and after every use to ensure the utmost safety and hygiene of the travellers.


Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Rajgundha; Thrilling trek begins

    Hop on a jeep and ride 54 KM to Barot valley - on the banks of Uhl river - India's first hydroelectric dam

    Once in Barot Valley, you will spend some time before being given a chance to explore the local sights. The lunch this day will be by the side of the River Uhl.

    Post lunch, the trek will lead to Badagraan, which is the starting point of the trek to Rajgundha

    The trek which will be 4 KM from Badagraan by waterfalls, lush green meadows and many wooden bridges over the Uhl River

    After reaching the campsite in Rajgundha, you will be given a special Rajgundha tea with hot snacks

    Post sunset, the camp will lighten up with a bonfire with music. The night sky above will provide you with scenes of more stars than you may have seen ever.

  • Day 2 - Bir; Trek ends

    The morning starts with a mesmerizing view of the sunrise in Rajgundha Valley. You will go for a short session of sightseeing in Gundha Valley.

    After breakfast, you will start trekking towards Bir for about 12 KM, via the Chinna Pass with a cup of tea enjoyed at the highest point of the trek

    Post this, you will trek to Billing, where a vehicle will be waiting for taking you back to Bir

    Arrival in Bir will mark the end of this experience, and from there, you can move onto your return journey
