About the Activity:
Fixed Departures: 19th June 2016, 10th July 2016, 31st July 2016, 21st August 2016
Arrive at Anchorage, Alaska's largest city.
Start off your vacation flying into stunning scenery overlooking the Chugach, Alaskan, Kenai, and Talkeetna mountain ranges.
At 6 pm, you will have a pre-departure meeting followed by a group meal.
Take this evening to get to know your fellow travelers and guides.
Head to Denali National Park in the morning.
This is the place to fulfill your hopes of seeing large and small wild animals living in the pristine wilderness as they have for ages.
Set up your campsite and the following two days you will have the opportunity to take a bus ride through the national park along its only road and hopefully spot bears, moose, caribou, or wolves.
For the adventurous ones, you’ll have the opportunity for trailblazing throughout the park’s 6 million acres.
No trip would be complete without adding the optional activity of flying over Denali National Park and around Mt. McKinley (20,320 ft/6194m.)
Enjoy campfire and interaction sessions in the evenings.
This for Day 2 to 4.
Drive through Denali Highway to MacLaren River Lodge
Located in the Maclaren river valley, you traverse through high alpine country on the state’s second highest highway pass.
Here lies the Maclaren River Lodge run by Alan and Susie, the hosts, who will take you on a boat ride up to "The Glacier Camp."
This barren land is where you will stay overnight and explore and observe the stars.
The next morning take a casual canoe trip back down the river for the next night at this beautifully situated lodge.
Indulge in fishing in the afternoon.
This is for Day 5 and 6.
Visit the largest national park in the United States and camp at the "end-of the road" campground.
Once a striving gold and copper mine settlement, this has been long abandoned making it a perfect place for camping ad exploration.
There are many optional activities like hiking, ice climbing, glacier walks, guided mine tours, rafting, and scenic flights around 16,000-foot peaks, 25-mile long glaciers and massive icefalls.
This for Day 7 to 9.
Valdez is the terminus of the 800-mile trans-Alaskan pipeline that begins at Prudhoe Bay.
This quaint little town is set on the backdrop of Chugach mountain and makes for some amazing scenery.
Go on a hike and explore this little town.
You can spot a bear in the evening coming to catch salmon.
This is for Day 10 and 11.
Return to Anchorage and depart.
