Batu Caves, one of the most prominent heritage sites of Malaysia is a series of limestone caves that date back to about 400 million years ago. Situated 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur, the caves were used as shelters by the indigenous Temuan or Besisi people (a tribe of Orang Asli) in ancient times.
